# Diskpart: Wipe and Re-partition a Disk (UEFI/GPT)

> **This erases the disk.** Only use it on a device whose backup is complete, or on new hardware.

1. Boot into WinPE or the task sequence wizard and press **F8** for a command prompt.
2. Type `diskpart`.
3. Enter each line and press Enter after each:

list disk
select disk 0
clean
convert gpt
create partition efi size=300
format quick fs=fat32 label="System"
assign letter=S
create partition msr size=128
create partition primary
format quick fs=ntfs label="Windows"
assign letter=C
exit
```

4. Close the prompt and restart the task sequence.
